Otter Rock

Dive Type:  Boat

Experience Level:  Beginning to Intermediate

Dangers:  Divers should be wary of the surge.

Dive Profile:  Otter Rock sits within a short distance of Gull Rock and offers similar underwater structure for divers to explore.  A kelp forest coupled with broken, rocky terrain are wonderful habitat for the sea bass, perch, and lingcod that inhabit the area.  Large lingcod have been found on occasion, with some divers taking fish up to 25 pounds.  Rock scallops are large and abundant.  A good knife and bag will produce a limit in less than half an hour.  Spending a summer afternoon at Otter Rock will show you why the Northwest offers some of the best underwater habitat for divers to explore.
