Gull Rock

Dive Type:  Boat

Experience Level:  Beginning to Intermediate

Dangers:  About the only danger here is sunburn on a clear day.  In addition just be wary of the surge.

Dive Profile:  Diving around Gull Rock offers a broken terrain of rocky peaks and gullies, with depth ranging from 10-40 feet.  The area supports patches of kelp and is home to a variety of fish including sea bass, greenling, and small lingcod.  Rock scallops are found throughout the area, in crevices and along the walls.  Using a heavy knife a diver can easily take his or her limit within 20 minutes.  The area is shallow and diving is best during the summer when the swell is low.  Gull Rock is a great place to spend a slow summer day.  Relax, bring some lunch, and collect some fresh rock scallops for dinner.
